According to the criteria, one needs at least 24 units of microbiology which can include Thesis, Special Problem, and Practicum in microbiology. I have a degree in molecular biology. I have 4 units from a course that is formally on microbiology. Many of my other courses, while not strictly on microbiology, involve some microbiological techniques. My thesis (6 units) was also on malaria.
I'm also doing my MS in food science, where I have 8 units of food microbiology. I also have 3 units of sterilization processes that also involve food microbiology.
Currently, I'm a college instructor and I handle a general/introductory lab course on microbiology. I also handle an elective on food microbiology.
I'm not sure if these are enough to qualify me to take the exam. I already emailed the PAM asking the same question, but I haven't received a response. I was wondering if anyone here can help me.
