SMAC is great because it's one of the veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerryyyyyyyyy few settings that try to have some degree of goodness with most of its factions not least of all an analogue of something that's rather easy and safe to villify.
