Gender-diverse college students and students with autism are more likely than their cis peers without autism to experience suicidal thoughts and behaviours, and students who are both gender-diverse and autistic may be the most likely to attempt suicide.

I wonder how much is bullying and how much is just lacking social connections. You might not be bullied for being autistic but you might find it harder to have friends, for example. Being lonely is rough, being lonely in university is very rough and can lead to a host of mental illness problems.
Dealing with bad shit sucks but having nothing good in your life to counterbalance it is the real kicker.
