Baby boomers living longer but are in worse health than previous generations. Obesity, type 2 diabetes, cancer, heart disease and other diseases all affecting people at younger ages, a “generational health drift”, with younger generations with worse health than previous generations at the same age.

Yup! They all scoff at the gym and actual physio?

It's like pulling teeth. Meanwhile, they all complain about going up a flight of stairs or carrying 10 pounds worth of groceries.

I had thyroid cancer and I was so weak I nearly passed out holding a popcorn and soda when going to the movies. I went from 3 days a week weightlifting to barely being able to grab things. I ended up getting the all clear to workout again and I gradually worked my way back to heavier lifts. But all the while my boomer relatives were all scoffing at me and complaining that I'm not eating the same fast food as they do.

I don't get it. They are content sitting on their asses in discomfort and weakness.

Lol. My grandparents were like a huge example of this. Grandfather just ate himself to death plus probably was an alcoholic. (Alcoholic, uncontrolled diabetic.) Grandmother ate all the food, but was super active and had a huge social circle. She died because of colon cancer (pretty much undetected because it was expensive to get the medical tests for it).

It was basically, "Do you want a good quality of life or not?"

80/20 whole foods and a good exercise routine and trying to get a sleep schedule down seems to be working.

I grew up in the 90s and I really remember the focus on grains. Now it's mostly veggies and meat for me and whole foods. And reading nutrition labels.
