CDC: 38 mpox-associated deaths occurred from May 2022–March 2023 with 1.3 deaths/1,000 cases. Of the 38, 95% were male and 87% non-Hispanic Black/African American. Where information was available, 33 had HIV of which 24 had advanced HIV.
