Submitting salary to scholarship

Hello,
I would like to get some insight on submitting scholarship information. Do you submit your employers salary info when you apply for scholarships? One of them is asking for my salary, but it seems to be optional. I plan not to, but wanted to ask what others have in mind of doing it
