Hi this is my first post here. I'm just trying to come to terms with having schizophrenia. I've been diagnosed for about a year and haven't told anyone about it but recently last week I talked to my therapist and she thought it could help me if I let my family know. So I told each and every one of them alone. Which was a lot cause I have 7 sisters and 9 brothers haha. But each of them took it very well and were super understanding. I don't know why I was so scared and ashamed to have schizophrenia. I guess cause I already have ptsd I was like oh geez why something else. So I was like I don't want to be a burden to anyone but the reaction I got was just acceptance and love. It feels very freeing letting them know what I deal with.
