He's wanting to change me from risperidone 6mg tablets to the paliperidone injection as it's less tablets I have to take a day. I'm med compliant but he is suggesting it as an option. Is it worth the switch? Tbh the risperidone tabs are the easiest out of the 7 differing ones I have to take daily. As theyre long and skinny. But I have a bad gag reflex so the injection wouldn't go astray. Plus I already take a monthly injection for my migraines. Is there any negatives to paliperidone or injections vs taking tablets?
But besides this suggestion in my first appt with him today he is reducing my quetiapine to remove it as taking 200mg at night is causing me restlessness. So im happy he also sees this and is happy to reduce the dose. The quetiapine was just for anxiety. I see him in 2.5 weeks. But I'd like to be well versed on the injection vs tablet debate so next appt I can go yes let's move forward on this idea or nah its not for me
