Can homicidal thoughts be a symptom or be caused by schizophrenia or psychosis?

Hello everyone, I'm not schizophrenic but I have psychosis and i'm posting this here because the psychosis sub isn't that active. I was wondering if homicidal thoughts could be caused by schizophrenia or psychosis? I was talking to my mom about how I sometimes have homicidal thoughts towards others and she thinks it's caused by my psychosis but I had never heard of that being a symptom. Do any of you have any similar experiences? I'd really appreciate any advice.
