Is anyone else self-medicating as well as being medicated?

I've been self-medicating with various substances even tho I'm being medicated with an AP injection. Psychiatrist knows but disapproves. Currently at a bar drinking trying to ignore/cure current rising paranoia but not having much success. Do any of you struggle with an addiction to try to quell your negative symptoms?
Maybe I'll become more talkative if I consume another cocktail. Maybe I'll trust the person next to me. Maybe I'll be able to feel free for a moment..
