Shared Dreams
Post Body

NOT fiction - this actually happened to me.

Sometime in the early 2000s, I had a very scary dream. In it, I came face to face with a very evil man who had teeth like coffin nails. Woke up terrified, couldn't stop thinking about for days. Still gives me the collywobbles when I remember it.

In 2003, I turned 40, and my adoring husband sent me to Dragoncon for my birthday. It was awesome! But while there, I saw something that terrified me.

From my blog post immediately after the con:

I rounded the corner into one booth which had some horror art. Beautifully done charcoal/pencil pieces - very disturbing. Even more disturbing when I saw one in particular. Several years ago, I had a dream about a serial killer who had coffin nails for teeth. This artist (Daniel Rust) had drawn a picture of the man from my dream. I damn near fainted. It was marked NFS (not for sale), so I couldn't bid on it, and he had no prints available. Trust me when I say it was creepy. He said that it won best horror in the show. I believe it. ::shudder::

After the convention, I contacted the artist, who told me that he had also seen this man in a dream. :shudders: The piece was called "Wisdom Teeth: The Nails of Truth" (and sadly, is not on his site anymore.)

I've never been so shocked before - that this terrifying image from my dream wasn't just a product of my fevered imagination, but must have come from Somewhere Else. How many other people shared a dream of this man with the coffin-nail teeth?
