I've been playing tenor for six years now and recently I've been using a D'addario D7M. With mouthpieces I usually start with a medium reed and switch to med/hard once I'm comfortable with it. I 've been using D'addario La Voz for a year now but I feel like the quality of the reeds has been declining. Most med/hard reeds I find in a box sound really dry (even when I soak them) with lots of resistance and a nasally lower octave. Now I feel like I'm lucky if a find a good one in a box of five, which is rage inducing considering the price. I even switched brands, and while med/hard Rico La Voz reeds sound better, they still don't meet the standards I hold for La Voz reeds. Am I crazy, or do y'all just sand them.
