My gf has been wanting to play the saxophone since she was little. I really don't know anything about these instruments but I'm trying to help her pick something good, reliable and affordable.

After watching a few videos on buying second hand saxophones. I understand maintenance can get expensive on these type of instruments.

I was even looking at different types of materials and styles. I was looking into the yamaha yds 120 because it's quiet and you can use headphones but I see a lot of hate on "electronic" saxophone simulators and that they're only good for fingering and not mouth work. I was also checking the "vibrato nude 3" plastic saxophone but I read some shops don't do maintenance on them because of their sensative material. I went to my local samash and I saw they're selling a used jupiter Jax 767 alto for $299. I couldn't get close enought to see if it had damages. I've seen some saxophones on fb marketplace that go from $90-300 but do to scheduling I don't think I'll be able to make time to go throughout the whole hassle with dealing with fb sellers.

Should i get the new plastic saxophone for $600 or the used jupiter for $299? Either way we'll have to find a shop to do maintenance on a saxophone eventually right?

Edit: I just saw another jupiter 767 on fb marketplace from a store. It's going for $395 with carrying case and current maintenance records for some pad replacements.
