What is Hoffman’s motive to carry on the games after Kramer’s death?

I don’t think he aimed to fulfil John’s last will out of respect. He never saw John as a mentoring figure nor bought his ideology like Amanda did imo, so why take all the risk and effort?

Possibly out of fear that someone else would expose him even after John's death. Especially since Kramer is always one to have backup plans for backup plans.. That and the whole Stockholm Syndrome with violence may have started to kick in
