I actually prefer them don't get me wrong Game over is iconic but it doesn't really have any plot significands and it isn't specific to John himself evidenced by the fact multiple other characters used the same line afterwards.
but in Jigsaw and Spiral the ending lines meant something on a personal level to the characters Logan's "" I speak for the dead "" referring not only to his teachings from John but also his own wife and all of the victims of Halloran's corruption who ended up on his table who he spent years seeing denied proper justice.
or in Spiral William's final Shush obviously an ironic call-back to when Zeke did the same when he was a child after witnessing his father be murdered by a cop while having Zeke be forced to witness the same only this time a corrupt cop is being killed by fellow cops as punishment for his past sins as opposed to an innocent civilian paying the price for the police's corruption.
anyway my point is I actually like how these had a personal connection and meaning to the certain characters saying them whereas the Game over doesn't really mean anything beyond that.
and I know that since the next film is another of John's Games we'll most likely be closing it with another Game Over which I'm fine with it would be kinda inconsistent for John or Amanda to close the film with anything else.
but I do Hope that in the future when we next focus on another killer outside of John we continue the Trend of having the ending lines actually be specific to the certain character saying them and make sure they have meaning in the story Rather than just have them close with a Game over just for the sake of it.
