Hello everyone! The Current GA here, Georgia’s only nonprofit investigative newsroom.Â
A few weeks ago, we shared our investigation into traumatic injuries at the Hyundai construction site in Bryan County.Â
Our summer reporting fellow Amira McKee published an update earlier this week: OSHA is investigating one Hyundai affiliate at the Bryan County site, along with two subcontractors, after a worker was crushed by a conveyor belt in May and suffered life-threatening injuries.Â
The OSHA confirmation of the investigation, which was launched the same day as the conveyor belt incident, came after The Current GA revealed that at least 20 traumatic injuries among workers at the manufacturing facility construction site, home to seven Hyundai affiliates and the workplace of dozens of subcontractors.
We wanted to share this update here, since comments and messages from users in this subreddit informed our earlier stories about the Hyundai construction site.Â
If you have any additional information about worker safety on the site, or any other tips, please comment here, send us a DM or reach out via email.Â
Thank you!Â
