Is Dispensary weed worth the price?

Hi i live in Cali and from my nearby dispensaries prices can be pretty steep, I was looking at buying a half oz but most strains costed around the $140 range. My dilimena is I have friends that sell street weed (hooks it up with $90 oz's) for significantly cheaper. I was just wondering if the pay difference is worth the quality difference as I'm sure dispensary weed is top notch.
