We're not rich, but have most of what we need. We used to party a lot before, play video games together, and stuff. But we have no time to do anything now due to two small children, and don't have any family around to babysit. She is kind of stressed out these days, doing her driver's license, trying to work a few times per week, while also nursing a baby. She also has a history of mental illness and anxiety. She dabbles in mindfulness, but I don't know how serious she is.
I've already bought us a Crock Pot as general gift to the family from Santa. But I also want to give something more special to her.
She has her driving exam in a couple of weeks, and I am hopeful she'll pass it. So something related to that could be good. We already have a car, and I don't think it would be appropriate to get something for that. But rather something related to what it means to finally join the driving community. She often gets sick on buses, so she rarely went anywhere unless if I drove her. So she is finally getting some autonomy in her life. She'll be able to go anywhere anytime, and bring the kids for activities by herself. That is, assuming she gets the license, otherwise it'll be a less fun Christmas and I will need to consider consolation gifts instead..
My current plan is to get her some semi-meaningful keychain and her own key to the car, and then add the usual home spa filler items. Not great, but acceptable, especially with the Crock Pot. But any ideas to make this more fun and meaningful would be greatly appreciated!
