I want to re-iterate before we go on that this piece contains spoilers for Logan in its entirety. You have been warned.

Ahh Xavier, what a dick. We have seen on numerous SUAS and PTDS how bad he can be. But today, I am going to prove to you that Logan sets a new bar for our favourite telepath. How do we know this? Well there are a few key points that stick out, however let’s start with the protagonist and everyone’s favourite clawed maniac, Logan. At the start of this film, we see that Logan has his healing powers slowed down, and is now suffering a lot more. In addition, he has driven away anyone who knows him and has a serious drinking problem. So, why is this a big deal? Well one of the things that PTDS has seriously touched on is how Xavier is OBVIOUSLY using his powers to make people around him do what he wants. When Xavier starts to lose his mental grip due to Alzheimer’s. In order to tackle this, his friends start medicating him which causes him to become a bit off-the-wall crazy. This off the wall crazy leads him to lose his control on the people around him. Mainly Logan. Logan, having previously been connected to the xmen and trying to improve throughout all the movies was not doing it because of a desire to, but because of Xavier’s influence. Xavier wanted to make him better, because to him he was like a loyal lapdog (animal companion? Raw easier to manipulate? You decide.) Anyway, after this Logan stays around because, surprise, he feels a debt to Xavier. You see, while I don’t think he knew Xavier was controlling him, he knows that he had good times because of him. He was welcomed. However, because Xavier’s control had lessened, he now could not see going forward how to act like he used to. Its memories in the past, and only a bottle in the future. Add onto this the pain he is in, (maybe Xavier was blocking out some of the pain he was feeling while he was aware?) and we end up with this situation of the start of the film.

Then we meet x-23. The first new mutant in decades. At this point Xavier is thinking to himself, dam, its a little Logan. I can use this. So Xavier comes off his meds. Logan is useless to him because his mind is too strong, too mature. But a Childs mind? Xavier could use this kid in the future if Logan goes. So the movie has Logan meet the x-23 and the nurse, and this is all instigated by Xavier manipulating them. We know from around this time he is off his medication so his powers are growing again. While he knows he may suffer from seizures in the short term, he knows this kid may be his key to get away and not have all the baggage of Logan. Using what little influence he has over Logan left, he manipulates his mind to keep this girl around. All the while, he is implanting ideas, and English even, into this little death ball. He’s training her psychically, and preparing her. Flash forward again. We are in the casino. He influences Logan to get him the hat he wanted. I don’t know why, maybe he liked the hat. But it was a stupid hat. So that’s the only reason. Then, while Logan is getting a car we see the hotel room ambushed. Oh dayum. Shits getting real. So Xavier here “fakes” a seizure. Ok this is a big claim, but hears me out. He knows from the past that Logan and supposedly x23 can handle this. So what this means is he is in a Russian standoff. Basically if he stops doing this attack, then he dies. So he waits. And because Xavier is a jerk, he hits the whole casino. That’s right kids, Xavier is not only a manipulative prick, but now he has his condition, he has a way to be a mass murderer without any consequence. #XavierGivesNoFucks #TrueEndOfMahoganyBoy

so let’s carry on. Xavier is wheeled out of here and, surprise surprise, everyone finds out he’s off his meds. At the point where he is able to influence horses. You could even go as far as to say Xavier here was the reason that the family took them for dinner because hell, Xavier wanted a hot meal and a comfortable bed. I doubt he knocked the car off the road but you know, Xavier likes to take advantage of a situation. During this whole time Xavier is influencing and grooming x-23 to turn her into wolverine’s successor. In fact, Xavier doesn’t really care that they are going to the border for this girl. Xavier wants to get away to Canada with this girl because then he’s away from the political situation in America. We know he is now classified as a weapon of mass destruction due to a previous mind bomb he dropped, which you can be the judge of him having an Alzheimer's attack or him just being a cock.

Anyway, we reach the end of Xavier when we see him talking to what looks like a shadow of wolverine sitting over his bed. This makes séance as x24 is a clone of Logan, so he would have a similar mind to him. Plus, Xavier was tired, maybe cocky. They WHAM. STABBED IN THE HEART. Xavier is fucked., so what does he do, he uses what little power he has left to control Logan, not x-23, because Logan is big enough to carry him to safety. Xavier is at this point “fuck this shit Logan, we are out.” But it’s too late. Xavier dies, gives everyone the middle finger.

in true redemption story, Logan pulls through and with his dying breath is able to accept joy into his heart.x-23 being a child is not as messed up as Logan was by Xavier, so is ok. What is messed up is Xavier made x-23 start to think that Logan was her father, when in fact she was closer to his clone. Film ends, credits roll and a Xavier free world is born.

tl;Dr Xavier manipulated Logan, tried to groom x-23 into Logans replacement and got bored of the world so decided to fake Alzheimer's to get drugs for free 90% of the time, the other 10% he had an “excuse” for being a weapon of mass destruction
