How contagious is bipolaris?
I’ve had a few plants become infected with it over the years but never have I had it decimate a plant in like a week.
I just discovered my tbmc had a nodule that was completely black and purple. I went to remove it and the entire plant essentially popped, oozed a clear liquid, and deflated. Out of a baseball sized tbmc I managed to cut two pieces the size of a penny that don’t appear infected. The plant appeared healthy last week.
The inside of the plant was a brown slime.
I’m more concerned about the rest of my collection as it was sitting amongst them, in the garage to overwinter.
I did the cutting in another room and threw the container and roots away. All that remains are these two little chunks.
Is there anything I can do that is preventative? Could this be from something in my garage? As I think back, most of the times I’ve dealt with it is while overwintering.
Probably panicking for nothing but the state of this plant was awful and I’m not sure how it got so bad in a couple days.
