Hello SF,
I'm 27, I moved to the mission from out of state last spring and just haven't had any luck in the dating scene. I got out of restaurants last year after finding my dream job, applying my cooking background to a R&D tech position. Since then I've joined a rugby team and done my best to settle here in SF.
In most of the cities I've lived in I have been able to find some great connections and some long term partners. Since moving here, I've been on several dates but have had the most amount of "ghosts" that either don't show up or just as quickly as they give you their info lose interest or don't reply with little to no communication. I try my best to be respectful and open, but after almost a year of being here my patience is just wearing out. I've tried apps, I've tried event groups, and even going out to bars (which I absolutely detest for meeting potential partners). and it seems like everyone I meet that is in a relationship with someone they moved here with or met in college.
For the couples here in SF that met here, how did you do it?
For those of you that have read through all this I appreciate you. I'm recently out as being NB (amab) and I present as very masc, and in my opinion I'm decently attractive and have desirable traits. Coming in to 2024 with more friends and support from the people I've met here than I certainly had last year I can't help but feel lonely and isolated as I'm missing that key element of emotional intimacy with a partner.
Let me know your thoughts, and feel free to add something if you're single or in a relationship as I'm sure there are plenty of perspectives to add.
