best clam chowder?

it's so hard to find a clam chowder joint in san diego even though we're by the beach!!?? does anyone have a favorite spot they don't mind sharing with me ? :-)

I know this sounds weird but the best clam chowder in SD is at the glider port. That lady definitely grew up in NE. Every other place sucks and none of them are true chowders(spoon standing up).
