I am a 29 year old black male who’s been living in Alamo Heights for two years now originally from Dayton Ohio.
I have had a very mixed experience living in San Antonio and only made 2 somewhat friends here but we don’t hangout and barely talk since they have bfs and one has a son.
I had a rough 2023 trying to make friends and dating here to make a long story short I exhibited a lot of negative energy and was trying to go to events and clubs to only seek female friends and try to get lucky vs cultivating friendships and being genuine. I unfortunately got kicked out of groups here in my age range due to my bad behaviors and ghosted by people who did not want to deal with my negative attitudes and red pill ideology that had made me even more miserable and upset with others.
I been seeking help finally with the help of a therapist that brought to my attention my bad behaviors and how to fix them.
Having said this I want to try one more time to make an impact living in SA to make friends and find groups or places that I can feel welcomed and have a social life instead of how I was going about making friends last year. What are the places or groups or just in general I should try to see if it’s good fit for me as a 29 year old? I can’t be miserable and stay in my apartment every day after work mad at the world and wishing I had friends down here playing my ps5 or watching anime all day.
I want to see if I can try make a difference here before I relocate to Houston and start all over again trying to fit in and be in a community with a sense of belonging and having friends. It’s just so difficult for me to make friends and develop relationships here.
