Only the bottom few inches were submerged.

Shut it down (seemed to still be working just fine, but that's always how it is the first minute or so), and took out the SIM card.

Used compressed air, gentle toothpick, and cotton swab with isopropyl acohol to clean out what I could.

Left it in a plate of rice. Will probably check on it in 48 hours.

Is there anything else I should do? I'm not exactly in a good position to just buy a new one. I need any help I can to clean my device and make it function like nothing happened.

If you leave any poop jokes, I will block you. I'm not in the mood. I've seen way too much of that when trying to research this.
