Last night me and my wife were using my S20 5G Exynos version to talk to our friends on Houseparty, having a virtual pub session.
As the screen is a bit small to see everyone on, we were also using the Google Home app to Chromecast the whole device display to the TV.
I appreciate the are two power intensive apps, but after half an hour on the call a warning popped up saying my device was overheating.
As I went to pick it up it came up with a message saying it had closed a bunch of apps to help with that, including Houseparty.
The phone was very hot to the touch, especially on the metal frame, which I guess makes sense as the metal will be the best conductor of heat.
After trying to grab the phone a few times it was too hot to hold so I had to pick it up with an oven glove!
I turned off the phone and left it to cool down in our utility, which is the coolest room in the house, no heating etc, and within about 15 minutes it was normal again.
I appreciate I was using power intensive apps, and the phone had a case on too, the Mous limitless 3.0, bamboo back, so maybe that exacerbated things, I've just never had a phone overheat like that.
Should I be concerned about the battery now, with the device having got so hot?
Also are there any logs I can take to check the device temperature when it happened?
Any help much appreciated.
