Help: My Galaxy 4S won't charge, what do I need to know if I have to get a new one.

Post Body

So today my Galaxy 4S refused to charge.
I tried charging it but it said high speed USB detected.
Then it said disconnected.
Either way it wouldn't charge and now the phone is dead.
Since I am with Cricket I will be stopping by one of their stores in the morning when they open.

I hope I don't have to get a new phone but I want to be prepared.

Is there anything that I should ask them to try to repair the phone?

If I have to get a new phone what should I be looking for, and what is a fair price for it?

I am fine with the speed and memory, and the camera is not that important to me so that can downgrade.

I do like the big screen as my vision sucks.
The iPhone being smaller is not as desirable.

My short browsing points to the Halo but I was worried that some of the reviews say it shows adds and I really don't want that.

Is moving my data as simple as swapping the sim card, or do they need to do more stuff?

Thanks for any advice.
