Looking to switch to S8 from iPhone...few questions on wearables/texts

Like the title says looking to switch, but I have an apple watch and would like to change to a Frontier with the S8. But I do have Verizon, is there a Verizon watch in the works? Or can I use just the Bluetooth one/use the At&t/T-mobile and pair it still with a Verizon phone?

On Group texts with iPhone users, can S8 users still be incorporated in the group chat? Are there some functionality issues with GIFS/Videos/Pics? I don't care if I loose the iMessage, but I am in a bunch of group chats with friends, so one of the reasons holding me back and the whole watch situation as well. Thanks!
