Wanting to roll a shield-using tank/utility miracle build this playthrough, but i do not know which weapon category to invest in for the best returns. Which "1 handed" category/weapons can get you through the game comfortably? I'm used to using a greathammer, and i know 1 handed won't match its power, but i want the next best thing. Don't wanna fight bosses with chip damage.
If 1 handed just really aint it, then 1h a poleaxe? Spear?
I know of 1 handing greatswords and greathammers/Axes, but i want to deviate from them.
Greatweapons in this game are like stealth archers in skyrim... you start one way, then inevitably end up in the greatweapon/stealth archer rut lol
Want to break away but don't want to use a noodle.
Ideas?
you can 1h almost any weapon (except for tier 5 great weapons), and since you're going to use prayers (i assume) maybe look into a wisdom scalling weapon, max upgrade and roll with it. So i'd say 1h maces and axes, maces are strike weapons while axes are slash weapons, they use the same node aswell so, depending on the enemy you're facing you can just swap to the weapon best suited for that enemy.
