I stumbled into a role with a consulting company a few years back and am starting to second guess myself as far as working in Salesforce.
I started out doing non-Salesforce administrative work for the company and have since become admin certified and been working as a Salesforce admin for clients - Flows, 3rd party integrations, etc.
Could probably take the App Builder and Business Analyst exams but hesitant to pull the trigger on those.
Most of my work is with financial services and, well, I hate it.
The clients are ALWAYS stressed out, they have outrageous demands, they seem miserable, and the amount of money they piss away on modifying the system is just absurd.
Iām tired of hearing āoh well, billable hoursā at my company meetings and would like to work on projects I actually give a shit about. But what I am starting to think is that Salesforce doesnāt really have a place in anything I actually care about.
I come from a science background. I worked in medical research before this and have been thinking about going back to school for conservation work.
Half thinking of transitioning over to GIS work and Remote Sensing but that is an entirely different post in a different sub.
I find the process of automating peopleās very boring jobsā¦ wellā¦ boring, and I am thinking that if I have no interests whatsoever in sales or business processes than this isnāt the industry for me. Iād rather jump off the ladder at the lowest rung rather than get half way up, hence holding off on the certs.
Would love to hear of someone doing work in the sciences in Salesforce. Just want to make sure I am making the right call before jumping ship.
