Took a hiatus from the job, now what?
Post Body

Hey there fellow SEs. I'm looking for a little advice. I was a SE in the infrastructure space for several years, and of course wearing more hats than just that one. But the last year I had to take a step back from my long-time job there due to a couple personal reasons. I took a new job (actually making more money) with better availability for myself for a little over a year, but was hit with layoffs like how many in the space.

I guess the question goes a couple different ways. First part is how to put that into my resume without looking like I couldn't handle the job before. The issues are over now and I'm missing the customer/prospect interaction, and of course the OTEs. Do you simply put it in the resume, or just wait for the interview if it even comes up? Second part is what's the latest hotness in looking for where to go? I'm happier working for the vendor types vs the MSPs, but I'm not going be super picky either. Monster (ha)? Indeed, linkedin, something else I haven't heard of?

I've reached out to some of my existing contacts, but trying to cast a wider net at the same time.

Thanks all!
