Should I change my career?
Post Body

I have quite a few years of full-sales in non-SaaS but I decided to become a SDR in SaaS when tech was still kind of booming towards the beginning of 2022 and I basically hit my quota and getting paid a lot higher than most reps due to my experience - my base and OTE were higher and even got promoted to a senior SDR in a few months which was like fastest in my company since they promote very slow. Then we got acquired and our entire team (including me) got laid off due to low team quota, but I was still 100% and my OTE was very high so makes sense I get cut since I don't even close deals (as I only source).

When I got laid off mid last year, it was very easy for me to get interviews with good company, but some of the interviews I opt out when they ask me do insane long assignments in Tech, but now I find it very hard to get solid interviews even willing to do hybrid and on-site now. Originally, I only wanted remote. My friends told me to switch career.

Being in my early 30s and hitting quota in my previous roles, I have rack up a lot of assets and I day trade a bit, so I can probably not work for a while, but I do take care of my aging parents and grandpa and I do want to spend more time with my grandpa, as I did regret not spending enough time with my grandma when she was gone a few years back when I was working and during the beginning of pandemic where everyone was quarantining.

So should I switch career since I cant still find a sales role (only made it to final like 5-6 times but two times I opted out since it was onsite and I don't find the role good enough last year, but this year I rarely made it to final at all? Financially I do need to help my parents and grandpa, so having a job will make me more stable, but I do have enough to support them for quite a while despite I am out of a job for a year?

Should I still apply SDR roles in SaaS despite having a lot of exp? I have gotten AE interviews for non SaaS and one AM interview for SaaS, but mostly was senior SDR roles or sdr/bdr roles, but most of the time I feel like I am over qualified or the pay is just too low, so what should I do?

Being one year without a job, I feel like I am a red flag, but in a way I don't want to work and get underpaid when I am not in need of money in a way. What should I do?

I do like sales since its flexible and can make a lot since I always hit quota.
