TLDR: I've been getting 3-10 interviews a week consistently for the last seven months with 9 years of tech sales experience, 11 years ran my own business, and no job offer. I need help.

At this point I feel like a failure. I am very discouraged. Here's my story. I was laid off by choice in December 2021 by a giant tech manufacturing company after being headhunted by AWS for an Enterprise Account Executive position. I was severely underpaid. Since then I've failed not only my AWS interviews, but every single interview process in the last seven months. I'm good at sales. I've been doing it for over twenty years. People do like me. I work hard. I have an associates degree.

I'm getting my butt kicked out here and I'm struggling not to give up. At this point I have sent thousands of apps/resumes between LinkedIn, Indeed, GlassDoor, BuiltInSF, YCombinator, Angel.co, and others. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I feel like I need help learning how to interview. I am the only thing that is the same in the last seven months so it must be me that's messing up in the interviews. At this point I just want to go back to work.

My resume looks good enough to get plenty of interviews. I'm getting 3-12 interviews a week consistently some of them 2-6th round interviews. Some of them have even been final interviews, presentations, and mock calls.

-Sold AI software and partnerships worth 1m to ISV's. Sold at C level.

-Exceeded Quota 233% for two years

My own company in something nothing to do with technology 11 years

-Did all my own sales and marketing

Tiny Software Company 2 years

-Performed business development (set appointments like mad)

-Exceeded quota 400%

Giant Software Company 2 years, Account Manager

- Took inbound sales calls doing a consulting call about which software (out of 200) they should use

-Also sold tech support and training with it

-Exceeded quota 125% consistently

Education

-Associates Degree (community college)

-Bachelor's of Computer Science degree in progress with expected graduation 7/2024

Military - Two years of service

How can I practice interviewing? How can I stand out? Where can I find a person to help me learn how to interview better? Should I just start directly contacting VPs of Sales and asking for a job? Maybe I should stop sending resumes and just start spending hours asking for referrals to get jobs instead? Who should/how can I have enhance my resume so it looks better? Does it need to look better? I got interviews at GitHub, AWS, SAP, Oracle, T-mobile, and many others using it.

I'm in need of a coach. I'm also alone in this. This is a little bit of a vent in sheer frustration, but more so it's a call for help.

Am I the only one having this hard of a time getting back into tech sales after being laid off? I never thought it would be this hard in a million years.
