Field sales to SDR

Post Body

I have over 10 years of field sales both in the medical and dental industry. I'm tired of field sales and account management and would like to get into SAAS. I understand I would take a pay cut going from where I am to an SDR role and I am okay with that. I want a remote position where I'm not putting excess miles on my car like I am now.

Any advice for making this transition? I have applied to a few AE and SDR roles and have had a couple of interviews for AE but didn't make it past the first cut. I have a decent tailored cover letter explaining what I would like to do.

Is it possible to make this transition? Will a company take a chance on someone who has done well in field sales? My expertise is primarily presenting and closing, with little experience in prospecting. Most of my prospects are medical offices and dental offices. I have no experience prospecting other than that. Thanks in advance for any advice.
