I'm starting as a wine & spirits rep this week after 15 years of high-end restaurant work (with a decidedly nightmarish year of d2d telecom sales mixed in there somewhere)... The company has a good portfolio, my territory is pretty solid, i have a decent handle on the products- i'm not a certified somm, but i do know my vino- things look good.
That said, I'm trying to straighten out the learning curve a little. So i ask you, beverage reps- if you could go back and give yourself one piece of advice when starting out (or, i guess, in this case give me one piece of advice) what would it be?
