I’m in the job market after being laid off. I’ve been in tech and media sales for about 15yrs. (This is my 3rd layoff.) I did really well during the last recession selling advertising, but it was a great time to be in advertising because things were moving from the yellow pages to online. You could literally cold call the yellow pages and easily have 10-15 meetings a week. But things have changed and digital advertising is no longer new. I’ve been mostly in SaaS and capital equipment since then. With the economy headed the way it is, what’s a good vertical to look into that’s recession-proof, or at least recession-resistant? Or perhaps an industry that’s timed well regardless of the economy? (I’m having trouble getting into medical bec I’ve job hopped too much. I realize it may be an issue I have to overcome in any industry though.)
