Hi r/sailing. I see a lot of newbies posting on here for suggestions on how to get started, but my situation is a tad different.
As a land traveler I've arrived in the Florida Keys and have met a water traveler who owns and livesaboard a 30ft sailboat. It's beautiful. We have discussed me going around with him (he would like to circumnavigate), but I have zero water experience or sailing experience.
I am looking forward to learning more, and he's eager to teach...but I was just curious what advice you guys have for someone who is pretty new to the game, behind the time in passion and experience, but is excited for an adventure coming my way? Thanks any and all :)
