As someone who loves both Sabaton and this song, I don’t think so. For one, Sabaton is Swedish, so it would be weird for them to be boasting about a country that isn’t their own (especially since Courtesy isn’t based on historical detail, but actual American anger post-9/11). There’s also a kind of blue-collar boisterousness and political incorrectness to the song that I think only country music can pull off; Toby Keith was saying what a lot of Americans felt, but were afraid to say out loud. That’s what made so many people clutch their pearls about this song when it originally came out.
