Hello,
I have an '87 Saab 9000 Turbo that is in need of a brake booster. The problem is that I cannot find a replacement anywhere. I've tried part sources in the US as well as Europe and I cannot find anything. The original part is TRW's PSA314. I did some reading on TVR forums because some TVR's used a 9000 brake booster and apparently the PSA328 was a very close match but those are no longer available as well. Cardone apparently used to make a compatible remanufactured item but those are no longer available as well.
Some people send their various brake components out to be rebuilt however my car is currently at a shop and so I do not know yet if the current booster is salvageable. I've seen some photos of boosters removed from cars that have significant rust issues and I have my doubts that hydraulic repair/restoration companies would be willing to take on the restoration of a booster with a compromised structure.
If the one on my car turns out to be past being saved does anyone know of any sources for a replacement?
