Post Body

With Ryo Wallet Atom 1.3.1 effortless solo mining in Cryptonote coins with Cryptonight algorithm has become reality.

Version 1.3.1 includes a built-in solo pool that works with all major miners (xmr-stak, xmrig, etc). You can point your miners to Atom and mine with zero fees and without giving any pool operator record of your mined rewards helping network decentalisation.

FAQ:

Q: Does this wallet solo mine itself?

A: No, you need miner, as usual, for example Xmr-stak. Set pool IP address as your PC's IP address where wallet is running and use default port 3333. The difference with common mining is that you own your own pool and get full block reward if you find it.

Q: What is "Privately share hashrate"?

A: When constructing a block to be mined, pools are able to reserve a few bytes for including extra information. Pools normally use this space for adding an "extra nonce" and a unique pool identification string.

If this feature is enabled, Atom will add only a single byte to the block, which will allow the network to detect that the block was created by solo mining. From the number of blocks identified in this manner, an estimate of total solo mining hashrate can be calculated.Your individual hashrate, wallet address, IP address, or any other sensitive information will not be shared. The only information shared is that the blocks you mine will be able to be identified as mined by Atom. All communication is done through the blockchain and you will not send any information to a central server.

If this feature is disabled, Atom will construct blocks in the same way as most public pools, and will not be able to be identified as a solo mined block.

This calculated hashrate will be displayed on solo-pool.ryoblocks.com page.

Q: Do I have to enter inside particular wallet address to be able to mine?

A: No, you don't have to log into wallet address. Just make sure Atom is running. If you are unsure if your server will have 100% uptime - set backup pool in your config.

Q: Can I use pool feature to send shares over internet, not only local network?

A: Yes, make sure you have static IP and you know how to setup port forwarding in your router.
