I am curious as to why Ryobi would do this?
Post Body

So I picked up a 18v walk behind mower for free...model number P1100 ( The guy said it kept cutting off on him I don't know I didn't have any problems)... But I picked it up to tear it apart and Repurpose the DC motor...

Well wouldn't you know Ryobi is putting 14V motors (https://imgur.com/gallery/bZTKaUH)...in thier 18V mowers....come on ryobi what the heck

Correct me if I am wrong but won't that make the motor have an early death? Maybe that's why they turn off so easily because the motor is being over worked since its not not made for 18 V

If they throttle the voltage before it gets to the motor then that's still BS because then you didn't pay for an 18v mower instead you paid for a 14v mower

Here's a photo after taking the top off if anyone is curious https://imgur.com/gallery/x772VYE

Also open to ideas on what to make with the motor...not sure how much torgue it has ....but it spins at 3400RPM

Shame shame ryobi....tisk tisk
