Cant find a guard/shield for cutting metal with the RYOBI ONE+ Right Angle Die Grinder

Post Body

I already own the RYOBI One Right Angle Die Cutter.

I mostly use it to sand or clean up things but occasionally I want to use it to cut metal. Ive already used it to cut off the tips of some bolts that were 1mm too long but plan to use it to cut through a friends bike chain (lost his key and should upgrade his lock anyways) and more importantly some large 10mm thick steel rails for a 3D printing project.

And I am confused. After some time searching I have sort of came to the conclusion that Ryobi does not seem to intend for you to cut metal with this. I guess ergonomically it makes sense but like if you really wanted to... how could I do it safely?

I have found for example this "Debris Shield Rotary Kit" but it is too small to fit on the chuck and there is also this ANGLE GRINDER CUTTING AND GRINDING GUARD KIT which is clearly for an angle grinder and does not remotely look like it would work here. Of course Dremel makes shields but I have no confidence they would fit here.

So.... how am I supposed to use this die grinder to cut metal safely? Is there some shield somewhere I am missing?

I was already going to wear a polycarbonate face shield and goggles but that leaves the top of my head, arms, and body exposed. If I have to I will try to thrift thick leather long gloves/apron but I would really rather not use of storage space for something I would use occasionally.

I could 3D print my own shield but not exactly sure how to keep it attached. I have a printer that can print with advanced filaments like PC, CF Nylon but I really cant tell whether they would be enough to stop a projectile given a FDM produced part has a completely different structure than say my PC face shield does.

Possible to that the shield could be more of a liability if the metal fragment were to shatter it in pieces at high velocity.
