How to take off these clips?

I have a '97 Aljo travel trailer and there's these weird clips on the wire grates in the fridge. How do you take them off? I've tried pushing up, flipping up, it's just not budging. Maybe I'm too afraid to break them and not using enough force but any help is appreciated.
