Nothing better than waking up to an email saying you owe a random medical bill from Oct-Dec 2022 where I was completely unaware there was still a balance and instead of being any bit of nice they say you are jeopardizing your account and self at Rutgers, your financially irresponsible and neglectful.
It felt like such salt to the wound. My bill was for life-saving medication, and I couldn't pay it because I ended up with a huge hospital bill in December. Now my family is paying almost 5k out of pocket for my surgery that I literally just started rehab today on.
I get I owe money, and my family will pay them but they see I am a Pell/Tag/SG/EOF student and they can't even be compassionate about why I can't rush to pay a medical bill.
Are they allowed to put me in bad student standing or on financial hold because of a medical bill despite having no outstanding tuition costs?
