Iced subscription problem

I'm working on a very basic chat app for a class, and the Iced Subscription I've made to listen for inbound network messages doesn't seem to send any events. With some debugging println calls on the server, I've confirmed that messages are being received by the server and sent back to the client, so I'm pretty sure it's an issue with the listener.
