Didn't know it was from the same period. Since the Tokugawa Shogunate lasted for 200 years and all, until I go to Chapter 2 and find THIS! and there's other known names. At this point, he's only joining the Shinsengumi.

They did mix up things a little. Here, Sakamoto Ryoma is using the alias of Hajime Saito, when, IRL, the latter is accused of killing the former.

Edit: still waiting to see if IRL Kenshin (Kawakami Gensai) will show up.
