Performance Vs Comedy on DRUK

Post Body

First of all, we know that irl there are Queens that are funny, Queens that turn lewks and Queens that perform the house downe - and there are some that do all three very well.

However, it feels like on DRUK there is less value/appreciation for Queens that are performance focused (Cara, Black Peppa, Tomara) - and I’m sure of that is because in order to “showcase” that talent you’re probably in the bottom. But I hear alot of “yeah she can do an 8 count but what else!?” but you rarely hear, “yeah she’s funny but can she slay a routine” when I reality of you went to see Vanity or Tomara at drag brunch you wouldn’t be thinking, “where are the jokes?” You’d probably be gagging at how much they slayed the stage.

Okay I might be rambling now lol. Thoughts?

TL;DR Why isn’t performance/dancing valued the way comedy is on Drag Race, DRUK especially?
