First of all, we know that irl there are Queens that are funny, Queens that turn lewks and Queens that perform the house downe - and there are some that do all three very well.
However, it feels like on DRUK there is less value/appreciation for Queens that are performance focused (Cara, Black Peppa, Tomara) - and Iâm sure of that is because in order to âshowcaseâ that talent youâre probably in the bottom. But I hear alot of âyeah she can do an 8 count but what else!?â but you rarely hear, âyeah sheâs funny but can she slay a routineâ when I reality of you went to see Vanity or Tomara at drag brunch you wouldnât be thinking, âwhere are the jokes?â Youâd probably be gagging at how much they slayed the stage.
Okay I might be rambling now lol. Thoughts?
TL;DR Why isnât performance/dancing valued the way comedy is on Drag Race, DRUK especially?
