As much as I appreciate the queens Lipsync'ing for Their Lives, I'm bothered that the music is always incredibly...gay. Not because that's bad music. But any halfway decent queen can look fabulous dancing to Cher, Britney, or Donna.
If I wanna know who can *really* perform, I wanna see them boogie to "No Surprises" by Radiohead. And you *know* Utica would've TORN IT UP gyrating to "She's Lost Control" by Joy Division. Of course, I know that both Thomas Yorke and Ian Curtis are/were stunning dancers in their own right, but I think the queens could keep up with those two.
Ru, if you're reading, make this happen and show us the next Yvie Oddly swaying to the Swans.
Edit: So I posted this more from a place of humor, but honestly, there's a lot of truth to this. Not every gay person listens to Madonna. I think only performing to music like Cher reinforces a lot of gay stereotypes that I don't identify with. So yeah, while this post was somewhat satirical, it was grounded in my feelings.
