Just finished my 4 mile “long” run, completing my second week of training using the Nike Run Club app. I received a lot of help from this community when I started and the advice was (and still is) greatly appreciated.
The program is great. I enjoy the diversity of the runs and the coaching is positive and not intimidating. I would encourage anyone to try it if you are in the fence. This week’s recovery run was longer than my 4 mile run which is weird until you listen to the coaching. It is impossible for anyone to not appreciate recovery runs when explained by the coaches. The speed runs are actually fun; I enjoy running home afterwards to check my times.
Now, the poopy part: how the hell did Apple and Nike create such a horrible marriage of technology and product? My run plan is on the phone, but not on the watch? Scrolling through the workouts on the watch is cumbersome: find it, download it, put shoes on, go outside, and find it again. It would be easier for everyone of the plan was on the watch with the workouts in one place. Yes, I can run with the phone, but it’s big and bulky….and i have the Nike/Apple watch!
This rant will seem petty to most of you, but each of my mornings start out with a bevy of curse words and head scratching.
Again, thanks for all who have helped and feel free to add any suggestions or questions. Enjoy your Sunday
