Hey there, everyone!
In the very near future, I'll be participating in my first run ever. It's on the 1st of March and it's 5km long. There's also a 10km run, but I think I should start out a bit slow, especially since I have zero experience in running.
I know I don't have a lot of time and I acknowledge the fact that I should have started sooner, but I was preoccupied with other workouts and what not.
Anyway, I'm going to start C25k tomorrow and I was wondering if it's a good idea to do an hour of running instead of 30 minutes. What do you guys think? Am I being realistic? Is there any possibility that I'll be able to make the 5km run in about 30 minutes? Actually, how long should I take to complete 5km? If it's possible, I'd like to be in the top 10. :D
Here are my stats: 6 feet tall, 165 pounds and male.
I hope I'm posting this in the right place! Also, I'd like to thank everyone who has taken the time to read this. I appreciate it. :)
Edit: I think I should mention that for the past 3-4 weeks or so, I've been riding my bicycle for 20km, three times a week and my average time is about an hour and 20 minutes. I know that's terrible timing, but I guess everyone has to start somewhere.
