Could do with some advice on when to eat carbs in timing with running. I’ve always been under the impression that you should have the main “carb” meal in the hour following a run. Is that correct? Or as I go to the gym in the mornings before work, would I be better off having them the night before? Looking to improve my eating and exercise habits to help my weight loss and general health from them.
Background if needed:
Currently am up to 3k runs every other day, swimming two others (c. 15 mins front crawl for that). Currently running at a speed of 5 mins per km. 27 YO, BMI just in to the overweight range (down from solidly in that range in the summer). Back in to regular exercise after 4 years of doing virtually none other than the occasional swim or treadmill. Whilst overweight, that’s a result of portion size and lack of exercise more than I have pizza/chips/crisps or an unhealthy diet etc. several times a week.
Any other info that would be helpful to answer, let me know and thanks in advance!
